Gerald F. Batchelder

For more than a decade, he has frequently served as a Workers Compensation Judge Pro Tem. He has served as a member of the Education Committee of the California Applicants Attorneys Association, putting together educational programs in workers compensation law for California attorneys.  For many years he was certified as a specialist in workers’ compensation law by the State Bar of California.

He was admitted to the California Bar in December 1976, and is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Mr. Batchelder has represented thousands of injured workers in workers’ compensation cases since 1977.  For the past several years he has limited his practice almost entirely to helping those who are injured at work.

He has successfully handled cases in all areas of California workers’ compensation law, including death benefit matters, permanent total disability cases, serious & willful misconduct claims, discrimination and wrongful termination proceedings, medical treatment disputes, temporary disability issues, uninsured employer litigation, job retraining and rehabilitation litigation.  He understands the relationship between workers’ compensation benefits and Social Security Disability entitlement, State Disability benefits, Long Term and Short Term Disability policy rights, and works to make sure that his clients resolve their matters in such a way as to maximize their combined benefits from all these sources.
